10 Ways to Style 1 Maxi Skirt ~ Modestly

Hello friends,

I uploaded a new Youtube video about the 10 ways to style 1 maxi skirt where I show you ten different outfits in under 5 minutes. If you haven't checked it out yet, click  --> here <-- !

In this blog I'll be going through each outfit and explaining why and how I styled each piece.

Outfit number 1: The Vest

Vests are so key to make any outfit more modest. I believe that every girl needs a couple vests in her closet! I also love a great layering piece and the vest is perfect for any weather. Here I chose a vest with a belt to show you a couple options. You can wear it open untied, tied or take off the belt and use a belt bag to mix up the look.

Outfit Number 2: The Oversized Sweater

I love me some oversized sweaters but depending on your body shape and size you can either get swallowed up in them or look way bigger than you are. It's important with oversized sweaters to add some shape to them. Here I tucked the sweater in in the front (what's new) and added a belt bag across the body so I'm not completely swimming in the sweater. I also like to tuck my hijab completely in with an oversized sweater so I'm not adding extra fabric into the look when theres already more than enough. Throw some heals on, or in this case some healed booties to give a little height to the outfit and boom, no longer a bag of potatoes!

Outfit Number 3: The Casual Sweater

If you know me, you know I basically live in sweaters, all year round. I'm all about comfort over here. I also love the look of a casual sweater with a fancier skirt and some sneakers, to dress down the skirt and have it more fun and flowy. Adding a denim jacket to keep on that casual trend is always a good choice too.

Outfit Number 4: The Cardigan

Cardigans are super easy, which means they are also one of my go-to picks. Wear it as is or throw on a belt or belt beg to give the look more definition and you're all set. See, easy right? Not seen here, but I'd also pair this cardigan and skirt with a white T or a graphic T to break the outfit up a little and again dress down that fancy skirt but still keeping it cute of course.

Outfit Number 5: The Blazer

You really can never go wrong with a blazer. It instantly upgrades your outfit with such little effort. Blazers are a great work or event piece but are also super versatile and can be worn casually as well with a pair of jeans. Here you see the blazer open and then also worn with a belt bag, it's really your preference.

Hijab: JVeil Dusty Pink Viscose Hijab

Blazer: Dynamite

Belt Bag: Zara

Outfit Number 6: The Casual Long Sleeve

The easiest outfit to put together really, it takes little thought and even less effort. Throw any long sleeve on and tuck it in all the way or just the front and pair with some sneakers and a jacket. Here I added a little bit of an edgier jacket to give this casual look a little more flare.

Hijab: Black Liquorice Viscose Hijab

Long Sleeve: H & M

Skirt: SheIn

Shoes: Converse

Jacket: Aritzia

Bag: Urban Outfitters

Necklaces: Bulgari

Outfit Number 7: The Hoody

As mentioned before, I'm a big fan of sweaters but my love also runs deep for hoodies, so of course I had to pair this maxi skirt with a hoody. I love matching different styles together and pairing this fancier skirt with a super casual hoody, heels and a chiffon hijab, it just gives me all sorts of feels.

Hijab: JVeil Olive Chiffon Hijab

Hoody: Banana Republic

Skirt: SheIn

Booties: Steve Madden

Bag: Gucci

Outfit Number 8: The Over Sized Blouse

Blouses are fun, oversized blouses are just more fun. Easy to get lost in them though so tuck a little of the front in to give more structure to the outfit. Keep it classic with a pair of heels, but keep your bag on the smaller side as with oversized anything you'll have a lot of fabric going on.

Hijab: Dusty Pink Viscose Hijab

Blouse: Zara

Skirt: SheIn

Shoes: Steve Madden

Bag: Gucci

Necklaces: Bulgari

Outfit Number 9: The Button Up

Button ups are great for so many different looks, as you can change them up really easily. For this look I chose to unbutton half of the shirt from the bottom and only tuck in one side. You can tuck it in completely for a more structured put together look but I like the shirt half untucked for a more playful look. What do you prefer?

Hijab: JVeil Dusty Pink Viscose Hijab

Button Up: Zara

Skirt: SheIn

Bag: Kate Spade

Booties: Aldo

Outfit Number 10: Fancy

This is probably the most obvious look but I just had to throw it in there because whats a maxi skirt if you're not ever going to dress it up fully? So here you go, a simple elegant high low blouse and some strappy heels, paired with a chiffon blouse to give you that overall done up look.

Blouse: BCBG

Bag: Kate Spade
